Almost packed and ready to go...

Well, almost. My 4Runner is nearly packed, and I’ll be on the road in ten and a half hours. I’ve spent the day cleaning camera gear and cat puke, swapping out batteries, last minute laundry and all sorts of highly exciting things like that. Before I take off, here’s the view of my home away from home. At night, the packs get moved to the tops of the coolers and Rubbermaid tub (which is not only my dresser, but my dinner table and desk), and all the little white spots around the windows are velcro tabs for the curtains I sewed. It’s a little cramped, but it’s cheap and I can sleep pretty much anywhere! :)

Last Day of Work…

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Today was my “last” day of work, for a little while anyway. In less than 48 hours, I’ll be on my way!!! I wanted to take a moment and give a big thank you to both Great Expectations (my mom’s midwifery practice where I work on Thursdays) and Reaction Cargo (the freight company I work for the rest of the week)…rather than replace me, they’ve opted to suffer through the next few months and cover my workload without hiring anyone new. I am very appreciative of the support I’ve been given, and the fact that I’ll still have a job (two, even) to come back to after my trip. Thanks everyone!!!!

So Close…

Just a couple more days and I’ll be off!!! “On the road again…just can’t wait to get on the road again…” That song keeps playing in my head over and over…and just that line, since that’s all of the song I know. I don’t even LIKE Willie Nelson!!!!
